Some brilliant Apple Mac App Store customer service.

Dear Toby,

Welcome to iTunes Store Support. My name is  Lydia and I am glad to assist you.

I am sorry to hear that you accidentally purchased the application "Pages". I know how upsetting this could be. I will do my best to help you resolve this issue.

Toby, I have reversed the charge for the app, which I understand was unintentional. You will see a credit of £11.99, plus any applicable taxes, in three to five business days. If store credit was used for this purchase, you should see the credit post within three to five business days. If you still do not see your store credit, you will need to sign out of the iTunes Store and sign back in. Please note that this is an exception.

The iTunes Store provides a warning message that asks if you are sure that you want to buy an item. This warning can be turned off. If you would like to make sure that this warning is on, you can reset the warnings in the iTunes Store by following the instructions in this article:

Resetting iTunes Store warnings

If you have any questions or concerns please reply back to this email, I'll be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for being a valued customer of iTunes Store.

Sincerely,

Lydia
iTunes Store Customer Support

Please Note: I work Monday to Saturday, 9 AM to 7:00 AM CST

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to assist you.

Details: I purchased Pages by mistake when browsing the App Store, I tried to cancel the order but as I had just downloaded an app, it did not prompt me for my password. I already have the iWork suite installed on my computer and therefore have no need for another copy of Pages. I have not installed the app and managed to cancel the download. Could I please have a refund and the purchase removed from my account?

A gift card was used to pay for part of the transaction, I hope this does not complicate matters.

Request for a Lower Price on a GoodSync Server

Looking at GoodSync as a solution, I find charging an extra £778 just because it is running on Server 2003 a little ridiculous. A cheaper solution would be to virtualise a Windows XP installation and run with a single license. Our implementation only syncs two small directories through FTP, why should we be penalised just because we are running on a Server platform? It is exactly the same software after all! We are a secondary school, nonprofit organisation. £19.99 is reasonable for what your software does,  £798.00 simply is not.
